Victor Shergill

Victor Shergill is a multi-disciplinary artist working in Fine Art and Live Action/Animation film production. The base of his practise in an expertise in drawing, evidenced by his habit of drawing daily for over 15 years. Originally a graffiti writer, turned muralist, turned fine artist, turned designer and director for animation - Victor’s single guiding aim is the pursuit of mastery - the simple joy of being present with a task and doing it to the limit of ones ability. Victor’s confidence comes from an iron will to forge ahead with his work each day - for the reward of inner peace, and the joy of sharing his love of craft with the world.

These three works are part of an ongoing exploration into Gum trees. Attempting to capture the spirit of the gum tree and find a distinctive visual language of the Ku-ring Gai bush where I’m from.
