I love the atmosphere when the fog descends, shrouded in mystery. Ambiguous forms, barely there, strange shapes, covered then revealed. Similarly when darkness falls- the landscape is cocooned and navigation takes a slower more deliberate quality. There is a different way of seeing. Where has reality intersected with imagination. I’m also struck by the disparate narratives of a scene, where warm bright colours, which are usually associated with comfort and joy sit alongside the foreboding dark drama of an impending storm. These ambiguities in the landscape, in art, in life call on an element of inner reflection. How do you the coexisting disparate narratives and stay sane? How can you see the whole and not be distracted by the parts?
