Artist's Bio
I started to really get in to drawing in 2020. The first lockdown during covid was an opportunity to focus for one whole month on drawing without interruption. In scary times this was a glorious distraction and something that excited me. Living in Collaroy there was no shortage of inspiration all around - nature, people, streets, cafes - so when I became brave enough to post my work on Instagram I called myself DrawingCollaroy.
I have shown my work at In the Frame at Sydney Road Gallery in Balgowlah, as part of a group show, Locale at Studio Beton and have twice been a finalist in the Little Things Art Prize in 2022 and 2025.
Working with mixed media and in a semi-abstract style, my paintings are often but not exclusively of interiors that still have a drawing element to them.
Music trained, I love being an artist for the challenges it presents and the excitement that comes with catching new ideas and creatively exploring where they can be taken through art. Jan Reeves
