People are only forgotten when we cease to mention them in our conversations, talk about their lives, or chuckle at funny memories. ‘Barb’s Orange Murano Vase’ is one of a series of paintings I am currently working on in which I include an object that belonged to someone who has passed away. Barb was my mother-in-law and her home was beautifully decorated with quality furniture upholstered in lush fabrics, a table set with fine china and glassware and always flowers from the garden in vases. The orange vase is my painting was brought in Murano, the island famous for glass blowing near Venice. It is now filled with flowers in my home and speaks to me of human connection via our memories
