CLAUDIA GILL
My work explores the stories of domestic interiors, mainly through the use of watercolour. As an emerging artist, I’m drawn to quiet interior scenes that evoke nostalgia and personal history. These are places that have evolved over time, weathered down beautifully by the countless number of memories that now live within them. The three pieces I’ve submitted—Grandma’s Garden Room, Grandma’s Living Room, and The Pink Room—are part of an ongoing exploration of domestic spaces that have shaped my inner world. Each painting captures a room filled with atmosphere, character, and traces of the people who have made them. I work mainly with watercolour for its softness and transparency. These interiors are more than just rooms to me; they are emotional landscapes. Through this series, I aim to preserve and honour the quiet poetry found within these spaces.
