Anna Walsh

Anna Walsh is an emerging Australian artist working from her home studio in Moama, NSW on Yorta Yorta land. Anna’s artistic style can be described as a harmonious blend of traditional techniques and contemporary aesthetics. Her work showcases detailed, hand-rendered designs that draw inspiration from the Australian landscape, particularly its unique flora. The use of warm, earthy tones reflects the natural environment, while intricate patterns and textures highlight Anna’s background in textile design. This combination results in pieces that are both nostalgic and modern, offering viewers a fresh perspective on familiar natural elements. Anna specialises in painting with acrylic paints, preferring to complete her work on professionally stretched cotton canvas. Each piece begins as a loose sketch, often drawn from life, before being translated onto the canvas through careful colour selection and thoughtful brush work. Finding beauty in small, more subtle (and sometimes strange) plant life is what Anna pursues and in turn celebrates through her work.
