Amy Elizabeth

My work explores the sense of awe and wonder I experience in the natural world — whether through expansive, zoomed-out landscapes or close attention to the intimate details of a flower or plant. I’m drawn to the in-between moments in nature, seeking to balance feelings of peace, calm, and renewal with flashes of joy and surprise. Working primarily in acrylics and mixed media, I build layers of paint, texture, and gestural marks to evoke atmosphere and energy, rather than depict precise detail. Each piece begins with observation but soon shifts into intuition, shaped by memory, mood, and movement. My practice is an ongoing, evolving dialogue between the inner world and the natural one.
